Matthews Transport was first developed in 1977 by husband and wife team Jim and Megan Matthews, based in a small unit with just one vehicle and offering a 24hr service nationwide. Since then, the Company has grown on the strength of its reputation, following a move in 1992 to a larger, wholly owned premises, with 45,000 sq. feet of warehousing. The 2 acre site is well situated in North Manchester within 1 mile of the M60 motorway. Strengthening the fleet to deal with the increasing demand for their services enabled them to maintain a carefully planned operation and to be competitively priced.
The business is now run by their two sons, Stephen and Jason who have experience in all aspects of the transport and warehousing industry.
Customers range from small local businesses to Blue Chip companies, all of which are provided with the same level of service regardless of size or profile.

Using an extensive network of over 100 independent transport specialists the client has peace of mind that their goods will be delivered where they want them and when they want them. WAREHOUSING & DISTRIBUTION
Incorporating Matthews Warehousing and Distribution Limited we have 45,000 sqft of warehousing space and a mix of racked and free standing storage for a variety of customers storage needs in a clean, well managed environment. Goods are stored for many of our customers for UK distribution with products ranging from either packaging, or food related items and ingredients through to finished goods. We offer long and short-term storage to meet all our customers’ needs. An all-weather canopy enables trans-shipping and loading under cover.
With mobile loading ramps and fork lift truck capacity to lift 2.5 tons, there are facilities to load and unload any type of vehicle or container. There is full time security including C.C.T.V for peace of mind for our clients.
A computerised stock control system is in place, which provides customers with detailed stock analysis and movement reports.
